Back in 2013, I was trying to start a side business. But not just any side business. I’d tried freelancing but got burned out on client work; I’d started a blog but never seemed to find an audience. So I started experimenting. I’d published Kindle books in the past and started digging deeper into the process. At the same time, my family was reading a lot of classic literature. Thankfully, the two interests came together. I began formatting public domain works — classic books no longer under copyright — for Kindle and selling them on Amazon.
My goal was to earn a few hundred dollars every month to help support our growing family.
It worked better than I expected.
All this has happened as a side business, by the way, while I worked a full time job!
