Exploring the Essential Features of “Centre of Excellence – Chicken Keeping Diploma Course”
Chicken Keeping Diploma Course
What Will You Learn?
Fun and rewarding for people of all ages, chicken keeping provides a variety of benefits and can even develop into a business. With a lot that needs to be done before you can start raising chickens and enjoying the benefits of farm-fresh eggs, the Chicken Keeping Diploma Course provides you with the basic knowledge you need to begin keeping chickens.
You’ll learn everything you need to know about raising chickens, where to keep and how to care for them, and how to maximise egg production.
We will start by going over the benefits of raising chickens, what you should consider before you raise chickens, and which option is better for raising chickens: chicken coops or free-range.
We’ll consider how much space your chickens will need, the general costs of chicken keeping, and the factors that affect chickens, such as climate and temperament. We’ll discuss chicken breeds and egg size, colour, and production, and the considerations to be aware of with regards to chicken coops, such as materials, cost, location, etc. You’ll also learn what is required to raise happy, healthy baby chicks and how to care for adult chickens – looking at everything from feed to footcare.
The result of all your work (along with the enjoyment of the chickens themselves) – eggs! We’ll familiarise you with the process of collecting, cleaning, storing, and hatching eggs, along with the basic do’s and don’ts of egg care. We’ll also look at how to go about selling eggs – the basics of the laws and regulations, packing, and advertising.
You’ll learn how to troubleshoot any issues you may have with your eggs or your chickens and become familiar with common parasites that affect poultry, and the medications used to treat them.
