Media Type: Digital Seminar
Description
This is the ultimate guide to understanding the hormonal and musculoskeletal changes associated with pregnancy and postpartum. You’ll explore the body mechanics by trimester and dive into the myriad of structural changes and most common pain complaints. Hot topics covered include:
- When “sciatica” isn’t actually sciatica – and how the piriformis may be the problem (and solution!)
- HYPER-mobility and the systemic implications for optimal MSK care
- How to better asses/evaluate for the increased fall risk
- Autoimmune and post-partum – what to look out for!
Enhance your understanding of the mobility and stability challenges associated with pregnancy and streamline your treatment plan for pain free pregnancies.
Speaker
Jesse Lillejord, DC
Dr. Jesse Lillejord attended undergrad with a focus on chemistry – becoming Analytical Chemistry Student of the Year her third year and assisting her organic chemistry professor in O-Chem lab. Dr. Jesse was also a collegiate runner at her undergrad college. As she was immersed in the world of movement and science, she gravitated toward a graduate program that combined those same interests – chiropractic. She graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2009. Shortly thereafter she married and had two children of her own. This transition into the world of motherhood created a passion for perinatal and pediatric care. She created the first specialty chiropractic clinic in the state – CHIRO FOR MOMS in 2018 with the creation of CHIRO FOR KIDZ to follow in 2020. She is still wildly passionate about specialized care and the education surrounding the ever-evolving field of chiropractic for women and children. Connect with Jesse on Instagram @chiro_for_chiro. Cassidy Vitzthum, DC
Dr. Cassidy Vitzthum grew up in a small town in northern Iowa. She started college as a student athlete, participating in track and field at Morningside College. She completed an undergraduate degree in exercise science from the University of Iowa in 2019. During the earlier years of undergrad, she was pursuing a career in western medicine, spending time as a medical scribe in various medical settings. After many eye-opening experiences, she made the decision to shift to chiropractic She completed her schooling at Northwestern Health Sciences while focusing on her passion for women’s health and pediatric care. Throughout school, she worked as a marketing and chiropractic intern at CHIRO FOR MOMS & CHIRO FOR KIDZ, which ultimately prepared her for the role she has today as a prenatal & pediatric chiropractic specialist. The clinic encompasses everything she is passionate about by catering to busy women and children and providing a space for her to grow as a compassionate clinician.
