JOHN’S STORY

In 2019, I paid myself nearly $15,000/month doing what I love. That isn’t a typo. I shot 23 weddings, and had over 30 weekends off. I took 2 vacations with my family, traveled to Europe, and set my own schedule. I went to my daughter’s games. Took my wife out on dates, and had TIME to be a father to my kids. 

BUT…
Life wasn’t always like this. In 2009 I remember choosing between paying my water, gas, and electric bill each month. We didn’t have food in our refrigerator. I didn’t have time to spend with my family or friends. I was stuck. It was a dark time. I drew the line in the sand when I ran out of gas one day, but had no money to fill up my tank. It lit a fire under my butt to figure out this wedding videography business. I knew there was a way to make good money doing this. Over the next 10 years I figured out how to start making real money doing weddings. I remember the first year I paid myself over $100,000 and crying as I showed my wife. You too, can do this. 

NICK’S STORY

In 2017 I was able to leave my 9-5 and fully support my family with our wedding videography business. In 2019, I was able to book my 3 highest bookings of all time – $6,500, $7,000 & $8,500. All local to my market. Next wedding season is on track to be our highest booking year of all time. 

BUT…
I vividly remember being out of state and having to call my wife to tell her that we had $137.00 COMBINED in our personal and business checking accounts. I had to call my parents and ask for a loan. I was mortified and felt like a failure – imposter syndrome was HUGE! Can you relate? Since that day I’ve been more purposeful with my business and my money. I’ve figured out how to make six figures in this wedding videography industry, and be more purposeful with my time and energy. If I can dig myself out of a hole like that, you most certainly can!

HOW TO FILM WEDDINGS

Back in 2018…

After Nick second shot a wedding with John, and saw that John was charging nearly $10,000 for that wedding video, he began to ask questions. John had questions for Nick, too, about improving his story telling. Instead of just trading secrets, The How To Film Weddings Brand was born! We knew we had stumbled onto something incredible that could change our industry. Little did we know it would blow up as fast as it did! Fast forward to 2020 and we now host a podcast downloaded over 200,000 times, have a YouTube Channel with over 5000 subscribers, have hosted workshops, mentor sessions, and have cultivated a wedding videography community with tens of thousands reached around the globe.
