2. Landing Page

Instagram bio, profile picture, link, story highlights. The landing page is key to attract new followers and engage them.

• The landing page on your instagram is vital
• Your username is a part of your digital instagram stamp and online identity
• Your profile picture needs to represent you and your brand 
• Pictures with humans tend to work better
• Use a background that enhances you 
• Use a music prop
• Write a direct and interesting bio

3. Content

• Consistency is key on social media. If someone hits subscribe they want updates for you, it keeps you relevant and accessible.

• Create content categories, share content series – video series. Create a plan and use creator studio or pre-publishing software (Buffer, Later)
• Use the 80/20 rule: 20% promotional and to drive sales, 80% educational, informational, inspirational, personal interests.

Rebecca Smart Bakken is a social media guru with extensive experience in the tech & startup industry where she helped launch over 250 businesses and put them on the path to digital success.

Her business is all about enabling musicians to build a business around their brand and music; giving them the tools to connect with their fans via social media.

Rebecca says: “music is a universal language capable of awakening emotions, driving social change and much more. You cannot look at your music as the only way to communicate. In order to get where you need to be, you must look at your music as a business.”
