INSTRUCTOR
Shane Hobel
Shane Hobel is a nationally acclaimed survival expert and founder of Mountain Scout Survival School, which provides lessons in wilderness survival and emergency preparedness. As a founding team member of the National Tracker Search & Forensic Investigation Team, Shane is also part of an elite team dedicated to the lost art of tracking, survival and wilderness skills.
Raised in New York’s Hudson Valley, Shane gained a reverence for nature and learned survival skills at a young age as he followed in the footsteps of his relatives and distant Native American roots. He was introduced to martial arts when he was three years old—basically growing up in a Dojo—and holds a 5th Degree Black Belt in traditional Okinawan karate. He also has a decade of experience in security and as a stunt man.
