- Iād crawl out of bed bleary eyed at 4:45 am so I could get a leg up on my competition and tell others I was a member of the fabled ā5 am clubā
- Iād spend 15-minutes visualizing my goals and attempt another 15-minutes meditating to try and calm my anxious mind (typically falling asleep in my chair)
- Iād chug a scoop of super caffeinated pre-workout and hit the gym for a 60-minute lifting session⦠that left me exhausted for the work day and led to countless injuries
- Then Iād come home, read the latest fad self help or business book for an hour, jot down a few notes in my journal, and finally get to work around 9:30
And for a while⦠It worked!
Sort ofā¦
Even though my business did grow and I started to achieve more and more professional successā¦
⦠I couldnāt shake the feeling that something was wrong.
Because despite my successā¦
I was more anxious, unhappy, and overwhelmed than ever.
And my morning routine just seemed to make things worse.
- I would dread hearing my alarm go off in the morning and the feeling of dragging myself out of bed after 4 hours of horrible sleep⦠well before my body was ready to wake up
- The habits that were supposed to āenergizeā and āmotivateā me felt like a chore and I often wondered if I was succeeding because of them or in spite of them
- My social life became non-existent and I was forced to say āNoā to every dinner, birthday party, and date that came my way so I could go to bed early enough to get a full night of sleep
- āWhenever I DID go out, I wanted to escape the way I felt so badly, Iād drink until I blacked out and crawl into bed at the time I normally woke upā¦
- āAnd by the time I finally sat down to work on my business, Iād already wasted so much energy that my creativity came to a screeching halt
All the while⦠my stress and anxiety started to skyrocket.
Overwhelm became my default emotional state.
And my burn out got so bad Iād often spend entire days staring dumbly at my computer without getting anything done.
But my business was growingā¦
So I figured I was doing something right…
Until My Business Almost Took Me Out of the Game⦠For Good
I woke up on New Yearās day⦠with a crushing pain in my chest.
My arms were tinglingā¦
Every time I stood up I worried I was going to pass outā¦
I could barely catch my breathā¦
For almost four hours, I laid in bed praying for the pain to go awayā¦

I stumbled outside, grabbed a cab and sped off to the ER where I was immediately rushed to the backroom.

The doctor calmly came into the room and I shot up out of the hospital bed begging him for answersā¦

To my surpriseā¦
He laughed in my face!

It was clear that my lifestyle WAS NOT working.
