ROB GRIMM
I am a dynamic individual; a photographer, a father, a furniture designer, a husband, a yoga nut, a devoted friend, a soccer coach, a little brother and lover of a warm brownie straight from the oven. I’m a momma’s boy and forever grateful that she gave me a Kodak X-15 camera at the age of eight to document a family trip.
I have crossed the frozen Baltic Sea in a snowmobile and have camped on the beaches of Mexico. Lived in Europe, got lost in Paris and made it through CU Boulder in four years. I have seen the Italian countryside in the spring, spent the holiday season snowed in at a cottage in Austria, aimlessly wandered the streets of London and marveled at the architecture in Barcelona.
I have been working as a commercial photographer for over two decades in the advertising industry. My focus and true passion is in food and beverage photography with an emphasis and specialty in liquids. I operate two full service studios in both Chicago and St. Louis and spend a lot of time traveling back and forth from each studio.
I have extensive experience on set working with creative directors helping to bring their vision to life. I am a creative problem solver with an ability to rig just about anything up. I am represented by Zahara Reps and have a client list that includes AB+InBev, Bacardi, Kraft, Grey Goose, Jack Daniels, and Wild Turkey, just to name a few.
GARY MARTIN
Gary grew up in Missouri spending weekdays in St. Louis and the weekends on a cattle ranch in southern Missouri riding horses and canoeing. One of the best day’s of his life included jumping out of a plane, rafting off a 30 foot waterfall, and 5 hours of pitch black spelunking in New Zealand. He’s spent the better part of the last decade traveling the world, learning foreign cultures, surfing in Australia, and living in Europe’s only Communist country without modern amenities.
A marketing advisor by trade and digital tech by default, Gary has taken a somewhat unchartered path into the commercial production industry. His career blends together 10 years of experience in start up technology business, technical writing, B2B sales, United States Peace Corps, Mac OSX support & solutions, international business development, and commercial production in the advertising industry. He is fluent in English and Romanian.
Gary currently works as Studio/Project Manager for Rob Grimm, a world renowned commercial food and beverage photographer with studios in Chicago and St. Louis. He is a problem solver with a practical solution to everything. Gary also produces photo shoots for RGG and Phlearn, the best online resource for learning Photoshop. In his spare time Gary is a staff writer for the photography blogs Fstoppers.com and SLRLounge.com.
