INSTRUCTORS
Michael Rogan
You know the skiers who teach the ski instructors how to ski? Thatâs the Professional Ski Instructors of Americaâs alpine team, and Michael Rogan is the coach of that team. He skis 250 days a yearâmost of them teaching a range of skiers from junior racers to the most elite members of the U.S. Ski Team. âIâm excited to teach you how to have better, more exciting days on the mountain,â Michael says. âSkiing is my passion and I believe the more you know, the more fun youâll have.” Michael, living a skierâs dream, spends his North American winters in the Tahoe area, then travels to Ski Portillo in Chile for the South American winter.
Marcus Caston
Marcus Caston, who lives in Utah, is a professional freeskier who has become a familiar face to the many fans of the Warren Miller movies. Like so many great freeskiers, he grew up racing, and he relies on those skillsâanticipation, edging, balance, and aggressivenessâto tear it up on big mountains all over the world. He says heâs always had a special love for skiing mogulsâsomething not all racers embrace. âA lot of really good skiers never venture into mogulsâthey donât want to work that hard, or they donât have the ârightâ skis, or theyâre afraid of looking bad. I donât always look great in bumps myselfâno one does all the timeâbut I love the challenge. Wherever thereâs moguls, thereâs a true test of your ability and a chance to get better at skiing.â
